Our honey truly captures the essence of our local flora, showcasing the unique flavors and qualities of the diverse wildflowers and plants in our area. In Berks County, Pa. our spring honey incorporates nectar from maple tree blooms, cherry tree blooms, and black locust tree blooms. Our fall honey features goldenrod, asters, and Spotted Lanternfly Honeydew honey.

Carissa Moncavage

In addition to running C&J Apiaries, Carissa serves as a Board Member and Secretary of the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild, which encourages and promotes urban beekeeping through fellowship and education. Carissa also serves as a Board Member and Secretary of the Chester County Beekeepers Association (CCBA), a 500-member organization of beekeepers located throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. She co-founded the CCBA’s Women’s Bee Group, which spearheads educational programming and promotes an open exchange of ideas among all beekeepers. She is also a member of the Eastern Apicultural Society. Through these organizations, Carissa has worked to mentor new beekeepers, assist longtime beekeepers, advocate for environmentally sound, science-based beekeeping practices, and continually improve her own beekeeping skills.
